The Personal Training Manager is responsible for leading and growing our fitness, health, and wellness programs while fostering an inclusive and engaging environment for our members. This role includes overseeing personal training services, mentoring a team of fitness professionals, and ensuring the highest quality of member experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the daily operations of the Fitness, Health & Wellness Department
- Manage personal trainers, clients, and related programs to drive engagement and success
- Serve as a Wellness Coach and Personal Trainer as needed to support members
- Provide strong leadership, mentorship, and development for fitness staff
- Enhance member retention by delivering exceptional health and wellness services
- Develop and implement innovative personal training programs based on community needs
- Assist with financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting
- Ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming fitness environment
- Support and participate in YMCA community events and initiatives
- Oversee administrative tasks such as scheduling, supply management, and equipment maintenance
Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree or higher in a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Certified Personal Trainer (NASM, ACE, ACSM, or other recognized certification)
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in personal training, group fitness, or a related role
- Experience in team leadership, staff supervision, and mentorship
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and fitness management software
- CPR and First Aid Certification (or ability to obtain within 60 days)
- Passion for health, wellness, and community development
