What are the responsibilities and job description for the Unit Leader - YMCA Summer Camp position at The Granite YMCA - Greater Londonderry?
The YMCA of Greater Londonderry's Camp Pa-Gon-Ki is seeking an outgoing, innovative, well organized, team player who enjoys working with children, possesses strong administration, communication, and multi-tasking skills for summer 2025.
Unit Leaders oversee a group of same-aged campers (pre k - 8th grade). Unit Leaders supervise up to eight staff, who are responsible to ensure the safety of our campers.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Developing and implementing staff training components,
- Planning activities
- Supervision/coaching staff
- Managing camper behaviors
- Communicating with parents
Qualifications:
- Have, or be in pursuit of a bachelor’s degree in recreation, education or related field
- Have at least 2 years day camp experience
- Experience facilitating and working with school age children in a recreation setting
- Have or be willing to obtain current CPR and First Aid certifications
- Available to attend all training's before and during camp season
Salary is $15.50- $17
Summer camp starts 6/18/25 - 8/22/25 : 40 hours varying shifts mon-fri 7am-5:30pm
