Camp Coney Pine, Rochester NH, is seeking an Assistant Director of Staff Life for the summer 2025 season! Our camp, a traditional outdoor camp, serves youth ages 6-15 while coaching campers to build relationships, try new things, make memories, and ensure camper safety all while having fun and acting as positive role models. This position is responsible for the oversight and development of all camp staff to ensure a positive and engaging camp program and an effective and collaborative staff team.
Responsibilities:
- Acts as a collaborative member of the camp leadership team
- Supports pre-camp training
- Supervises, coaches, mentors, evaluates and provides feedback to members of the day camp staff team
- Supports and guides other camp staff in their development and engagement with their coworkers
- Implements team engagement and recognition initiatives
- Schedules staff and ensures appropriate coverage for all program areas
- Recommends and supports any staff performance improvement plans to the Camp Director
- Supports the planning, implementation and facilitation of staff trainings and meetings, both pre-camp and ongoing
- Continually model and teach character development and Y core value qualities
- Provide direction and guidance for staff in the day-to-day camp operations
- Frequently participate with campers and staff in activities
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years’ experience working with youth and supporting staff preferred
- Completed High School or equivalent; some college credits or certifications in a related field preferred
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience managing teams
- Possess strong organizational and group management skills
- Proficient use of Word, Excel and Outlook and general computer and tablet functions
- Able to bring a patient, caring, responsible, flexible and positive attitude to work
- Must be available to attend camp trainings before and throughout camp season
Position Specifics:
- Camp season runs 06/23/25 through 08/22/25 and must be able to work most of the camp weeks
- Pay: $17 - $18hr depending on experience
