Camp Coney Pine, in Rochester, NH, is seeking a Specialty Camp Unit Leader for the summer 2025 season! Our camp, a traditional summer day camp serves youth ages 5-13 while coaching campers to build relationships, try new things, make memories, and ensure camper safety all while having fun and acting as positive role models. We strive to build supportive and empowering teams to help all team members show up as their best and most authentic selves, so that you can learn, grow and thrive during your tenure at the Y.
The Specialty Camp Unit Leader is responsible for planning activities and curriculum for their sub-camp groups that focus around each week’s specialty camp theme. The Unit Leader facilitates activities to groups of campers ages 5-13, and supports in other areas of camp as needed. This is an excellent opportunity to expand your ability to influence and grow others, develop your own program, and practice project management skills throughout the summer. Take your expertise and share it with others and make their summer one to remember!Some of our sample Specialty Camp themes are: Sports, Legos, Arts and Crafts, & Theater
Additional Responsibilities:
- Build positive nurturing relationships with campers
- Build cooperative relationships with coworkers and supervisors
- Engage with campers in a way that fosters Character building
- Uphold the YMCA values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, Responsibility and Courage
Qualifications:
- Minimum of three years’ progressive experience planning and implementing camp curriculum to a variety of youth
- Some college credits focused on youth development preferred
- Must be available to attend camp trainings before and during camp season
- Able to bring a patient, caring, responsible, flexible and positive attitude to work
Position Specifics:
- Camp season runs 6/23/25 through 8/22/25 and must be able to work a majority of the camp weeks
