SUMMARY: Great Lakes Potato Chip Co. is in search of a supervisor to lead our Sanitation team ensuring the security and safety of the building, property, and equipment throughout the shift.
DUTIES ANS RESPONSIBILITIES:
Will include but are not limited to the following:
Supervisory
· Ensure the proper cleaning and sanitation of the entire facility, particularly the production room and production equipment. Follow Master Cleaning Schedule and SSP program. Identify and communicate areas of concern on MCS & SSP. Keep all cleaning equipment organized and maintained.
· Train new employees on general duties as well as the Master Cleaning Schedule and Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures.
· Protect the health, safety, and wellbeing of all employees, completing incident reports as needed.
Communication
· Read, interpret, and explain Master Sanitation Schedule.
· Communicate with cleaning crew, production supervisors, warehouse employees, and management team to report and help refine or adjust cleaning duties to improve quality of cleaning.
· Complete daily report to accurately document the completion of duties, identifying maintenance issues, etc.
· Complete daily documentation of cleaning for the purpose of meeting GMP 3rd party audit requirements.
· Promote employee development of communication skills (conflict resolution)
Planning and Organizing
· Work with shift staff to plan and organize daily completion of cleaning duties, while remaining flexible enough to accommodate changes and requests from production staff, management, etc.
· Interpret and plan weekly, monthly, quarterly, periodic, and annual cleaning projects from Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS).
· Anticipate needs and request tools and chemicals for cleaning needs.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Previous supervisory experience (preferred)
· Effective and accurate verbal and written communication (including entering information into computer)
· Good time management skills
· Ability to complete tasks within reasonable timeframes
· Read, understand, and explain chemical labels and Safety Data Sheets
· Use specialized cleaning equipment: foamer, steamer, oil pump, compressed air.
EDUCATION:
· High School diploma or GED (preferred)
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to:
· Lift and carry at least 50# on a regular basis
· Lift and carry heavy, awkwardly shaped items without damaging items (film rolls, formers, etc)
· Reach, bend, twist, carry, use hands above head.
· Work on a ladder; carry, safely set up, and use.
· Use stairs and work on rolling stair ladders.
· Stand, work upright for over 8 hours
· Climb into and out of an empty fryer.
· Work in hot and cold environments.
