The Great Midwest Hemp Fest is a vibrant celebration of hemp and cannabis culture, advocacy, and education. We bring together a diverse community for a weekend of live music, industry insights, and sustainable living. Role Overview:

We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Web Designer to enhance and maintain our online presence. This role will be instrumental in designing and optimizing user-friendly, visually appealing, and functional web pages that align with our brand and drive engagement. The Web Designer will collaborate with a dynamic team, including an SEO Strategist, Email Marketing Coordinators, Social Media Coordinators, and Copywriters.


Key Responsibilities:

Website Design and Maintenance:

  • Design and implement engaging web pages using Bluehost and Shopify platforms.
  • Ensure the website is responsive, intuitive, and optimized for desktop and mobile devices.
  • Regularly update content, visuals, and functionality to keep the website current and relevant.


Collaboration and Coordination:

  • Work closely with the SEO Strategist to improve site visibility and search engine rankings.
  • Coordinate with the Email Marketing Coordinators to integrate campaigns seamlessly into the website.
  • Collaborate with the Social Media Coordinator to align digital assets across platforms.
  • Partner with the Copywriter to ensure content is compelling and consistent with the brand voice.


Analytics and Performance:

  • Utilize Google Analytics to monitor website performance and user behavior.
  • Provide insights and recommendations based on analytics to enhance user experience and achieve festival goals.


Project Management:

  • Use Monday.com to track tasks, milestones, and deadlines effectively.
  • Communicate updates and collaborate with team members via Slack.


Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in web design, preferably in event or nonprofit settings.
  • Proficiency in using Bluehost, Shopify, and basic HTML/CSS.
  • Familiarity with Google Analytics, SEO principles, and UX/UI best practices.
  • Strong visual design skills with an eye for detail and creativity.
  • Experience integrating third-party tools (e.g., Mailchimp, Shopify).
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Knowledge or interest in the hemp/cannabis industry is a plus.
