Description

Meet Boston is seeking a dedicated and detail oriented Human Resources Manager. The role is responsible for managing daily HR operations, supporting employees and managers, and ensuring the effective execution of HR policies and procedures. This role requires a versatile individual with excellent interpersonal skills, a deep understanding of HR practices, and the ability to handle sensitive information with professionalism and confidentiality.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Recruitment and Onboarding:

  • Reviews, updates, and collects data about job duties for the preparation and update of job descriptions.
  • Collaborate with hiring managers to identify staffing needs and develop job descriptions.
  • Manage the full-cycle recruitment process, including sourcing, interviewing, selecting candidates, offer letters, reference, and background checks.
  • Conduct new hire orientations and ensure a smooth onboarding process.

2. Employee Relations:

  • Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries and issues.
  • Address employee concerns and grievances promptly and professionally.
  • Foster a positive work environment through conflict resolution and effective communication.

3. Benefits Administration:

  • Administer employee benefits programs, including insurance (medical, dental, etc.), retirement plans, leave policies, FSA, 401(k), and workers compensation.
  • Assist employees with benefits enrollment and provide ongoing support and education about benefit options.
  • Liaise and assist HR Director with benefits vendors on review\renewal of all benefit plans. Proactively resolve any issues that arise.
  • Assist with LOA admin & requests.

4. HRIS and Record Keeping:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records in the HRIS system (Paylocity) ensuring full integration of HR processes.
  • Generate HR reports and metrics for data management and reporting needs.
  • Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations and HR best practices.
  • Serves as subject matter expert on Paylocity capabilities.

5. Performance Management:

  • Assist in the development and implementation of performance management processes.
  • Support managers in conducting performance reviews and setting employee goals.
  • Track employee performance and development plans.

6. Training and Development:

  • Identify training needs and coordinate employee training programs.
  • Facilitate professional development opportunities and monitor training effectiveness.
  • Promote continuous learning and skill enhancement among staff.

7. Compliance:

  • Support HR Director in ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Support with updating HR policies and procedures as needed to reflect current legal requirements.
  • Conduct regular audits of HR practices to ensure ongoing compliance.

8. Other Duties:

  • Participate in HR projects and initiatives to improve HR processes and programs.
  • Provide support for company events and activities as needed (i.e. career fairs and workforce development initiatives).
  • Stay current with HR trends and best practices to bring innovative ideas to the team. 

Job Type:

  • Full-time, Exempt
  • Hybrid work schedule: 3 days in office / 2 days remote

Requirements

  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP preferred.
  • 8 years of Senior HR Generalist/HR Manager experience.
  • Advanced knowledge in the core HR disciplines of benefits, performance management, recruitment/retention; HRIS systems; compensation; employee relations; on/off-boarding; leaves of absence.
  • Expert level HRIS system knowledge; prior experience assessing and implementing process improvements & identifying / troubleshooting issues required.
  • Must have proven expertise in designing and implementing HR programs and policies.
  • Initiative, resourcefulness, and the ability to think independently.
  • Significant experience resolving HR issues including terminations, benefits inquiries, policy clarification.
  • Ability to compile and analyze data and metrics to guide strategic planning.
  • Excellent judgment and ability to escalate issues appropriately for prompt attention.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels and develop strong collegial relationships.
  • Excellent listening skills, the ability to discern issues and provide guidance.
  • Impeccable attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as a team member.
  • Strong writing skills and the ability to communicate effectively.
  • Proficiency with MS Office.
