POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the director of the Membership Director, the incumbent supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community. The incumbent manages and oversees day to day operation of the Y facilities. The facility monitor will monitor YMCA facilities including basketball gym, locker rooms, outside door access points, gate check in and wet corridor, engage with members and will model behavior exemplifying the YMCA character traits: caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility to meet the needs of the ever-changing community. The incumbent will ensure a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment for members by monitoring and maintaining facilities at the YMCA. The facility monitor is to enforce the YMCA Code of Conduct and Gym Expectations to address any questions or concerns brought by members and/or guests.

ESSENTIAL FUNCATIONS:
· Ability to address, respond and enforce YMCA Code of Conduct and facility expectations that are not in line with the YMCA mission.
· Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of participants by providing a welcoming and inclusive environment for members by monitoring and maintaining facilities at the YMCA.
· Must provide a safe and clean environment with close supervision of all activities, organizing and maintaining the facility including YMCA equipment used by members.
· Accepts responsibility for YMCA facilities such as basketball gym, locker rooms, outside door access points, gate check in and wet corridor to provide a safe environment for members.
· Develops meaningful, sustainable, and positive relationships with members in a courteous, respectful, and professional manner.
· Promote recruitment of new members and retention of existing members.
· Responsible for carrying out approved emergency action plans in the event of an emergency.
· Respond to participants’ inquiries and needs in a timely manner, contact appropriate personnel when necessary, and handles complaints in a courteous manner.
· Communicate problems and concerns shared by the members to supervisor.
· Attend and contribute to all staff meetings and in service training.
· Duties, responsibilities, and activities may change, or new ones may be assigned at any time, with or without notice.

QUALIFICATIONS:
· Must be committed to and supportive of the Y mission.
· Must be able to prioritize and multitask.
· Must have good verbal and written communication as well as strong relationship building skills.
· Must demonstrate a high level of professionalism.
· Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
· Prefer knowledge of, and previous experience with, diverse populations (language, culture, race, physical ability, sexual orientation, etc.).
· Must be at least 21 years of age
