Job Summary
We are seeking a Summit Caretaker to serve as a representative of The Green Mountain Club on the summit of Mt. Mansfield. As a Summit Caretaker, you will be responsible for ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for visitors while maintaining the natural beauty of the summit.
Key Responsibilities
- Be present on the summit of Mt. Mansfield for a half day (or occasionally full day) shift.
- Provide information to visitors about the fragile alpine tundra ecosystem and how to avoid damaging it.
- Correct inappropriate behavior such as vegetation trampling, off-leash dogs, or drone usage.
Qualifications
- Strong background in conservation and environmental education.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
