The Mechanic is responsible for repairing and maintaining the equipment owned by the company. Experience with mechanical repair is a necessity.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Duties/ Responsibilities

• • Evaluate the return and condition of landscape equipment, making repair recommendations
  • Complete basic work service orders, sharpen blades, replace string lines, etc
  • Complete advanced repairs on 2-cycle and other landscape equipment
  • Perform preventative maintenance such as oil changes, tire changes and other vehicle services
  • Ensure equipment is clean, properly maintained and in good working order
  • Provide updates, recommendations, and regular communication to Managers
  • Follow safety rules and regulations, assist Crews to meet daily goals
  • Repair of trucks, trailers, and equipment correctly, safely, and efficiently
  • Accurately document all work performed to each unit
  • Clean repaired items prior to returning for crew use
  • Keep work area and shop common areas clean and organized
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Required Skills/Abilities

• • Self-starter and demonstrates initiative
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must possess a current Class C Driver’s License with clean MVR records
  • Ability to perform basic repairs and required maintenance using special tools and equipment following Technical Manual procedures
  • Proficient knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems used in the repair of turf equipment
  • Ability to operate vehicles and equipment used for diagnostic purposes
  • Truck mechanic experience preferred
  • Ability to read and write the English language
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus but not required

Education and Experience

• • High school graduate or equivalent desired
  • Previous outside construction, landscape, or similar field experience
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills a must
  • 1 Years of experience performing service repairs
  • 1 Years of experience as a Small Engine Mechanic or Small Engine Technician

  • Must maintain regular and reliable attendance at a level acceptable to the company
  • Position may require extended work hours and flexibility in scheduling
  • This work may be performed outside in all sorts of weather conditions (i.e., hot, humid, cold, wet, windy, rain, snow) which means the person will need to be adequately prepared
  • Must be able to lift 75 pounds
