What are the responsibilities and job description for the Retail Garden Center Part Time Plant Specialist position at The Greenhouse Garden Center?
The Greenhouse Garden Center is looking for a Plant Specialist to join our team! We are a family owned and operated retail store located in Summerdale, AL. We carry a wide variety of flowers, shrubs, house plants, and more. We are looking for someone to work as a Plant Specialist who will assist customers with any plant related questions. As well as help the customer make education decisions on the best plant for their environment. Candidate must have prior nursery or garden center experience. If you do not have previous working experience with plants please explain your plant experience and knowledge.
- Greet and direct customers to products/services
- Answer customers’ questions on products/services provided
- Inform customers about available products/services
- Answer phone calls
- Work the register and assist with purchases
- Maintain clean and tidy store area
- Provide excellent customer service
- Answer customer questions about products/services provided by the store
- Assist other staff as needed
- Inform customers about new products/services provided by the store
Experience:
- Previous experience in retail sales, customer service, or other related fields strongly preferred but not required.
- Must have knowledge of flowers and plants.
- Must be willing to continue their plant education.
- Customer service focus with the ability to communicate information to different types of customers. (i.e., math skills)
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $14.00 per hour
