The Greer Group is seeking a highly motivated and technically skilled Service and Parts Specialist to join our clients team for excavator tooling systems. This role will be essential in providing exceptional customer service through troubleshooting, technical advice, and parts expertise. The ideal candidate will be trained to become a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on excavator tooling products and provide key support in diagnosing and solving product issues. You will work closely with engineers and higher-level specialists to ensure seamless operations and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Answer customer calls and respond to inquiries related to excavator tooling systems, providing prompt, accurate, and professional technical support.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical and hydraulic issues on excavator tools.
- Provide expert advice on parts selection, usage, and availability for excavator tooling systems.
- Collaborate with engineers and escalate complex or unresolved issues to higher-level specialists when necessary.
- Solve problems related to product functionality, operational performance, and parts compatibility.
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation of customer interactions and technical resolutions in the system.
- Develop a deep understanding of the excavator tooling systems through continuous training and experience.
- Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) over time, offering guidance and technical advice to both customers and internal teams.
- Provide customers with solutions for both technical issues and parts ordering, including timely delivery and inventory management.
- Assist with the management of parts inventory and ordering processes to ensure availability of critical components.
- Offer training and product knowledge to customers as needed to ensure optimal system operation.
Qualifications:
- Required:
- Strong customer service and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Technical troubleshooting ability, with a knack for problem-solving.
- Knowledge of heavy equipment and hydraulic systems is preferred.
- Previous experience in a technical support or parts specialist role, preferably within the construction, automotive, or heavy equipment industries.
- Ability to learn quickly and a strong desire to grow as a subject matter expert.
- Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
- Preferred:
- Experience with excavator tools or similar construction equipment systems.
- Background in mechanical, hydraulic, or engineering disciplines.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems and parts databases.
- Experience with customer relationship management (CRM) tools.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work in an office environment and engage with technical documentation.
- Occasional travel or in-field support may be required.
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds and handle technical equipment as needed.
