We seek a friendly, enthusiastic, and reliable Barista to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for coffee and customer service, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Barista responsibilities include crafting high-quality beverages, engaging with customers, and maintaining a clean and inviting space. To be successful in this role, you should have an outgoing personality, attention to detail, and excellent customer service skills.
Responsibilities
- Welcome customers, thoroughly know menu items, answer questions and take orders.
- Skillfully prepare and serve various coffee & tea beverages, following house recipes, ensuring consistency and quality.
- Serve pastry case food, like cookies, pastries and muffins
- Handle cash and card transactions efficiently and accurately using the point-of-sale system. Ensure the cash register balances at the beginning of opening shifts and end of your closing shifts.
- Keep the coffeehouse clean and organized, including the barista station, seating area, and restrooms.
- Properly use and maintain coffee-making equipment, including espresso machines, grinders, and brewers.
- Maintains appearance of location ensuring product is stocked to appropriate levels and all areas are properly cleaned and sanitized
- Assist with expo of kitchen orders
- Comply with health and safety regulations
- Communicate with managers on customer feedback, equipment in need of maintenance, or that has broken.
Skills
- Passion for coffee and prior coffee experience. 1-year Barista or similar customer service role is preferred.
- Ability to engage with customers warmly and professionally, ensuring a positive experience and fostering a welcoming atmosphere.
- Ability to gauge customers’ preferences, ensuring a positive experience and fostering a welcoming atmosphere.
- Meticulous in following recipes and procedures to ensure consistent quality in every beverage served.
- Competence in managing multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced setting without compromising quality or service.
- Strong verbal communication skills to interact effectively with customers and team members.
- Basic understanding of coffee techniques and a willingness to learn and master various coffee preparation methods.
- Commitment to maintaining a clean, organized workspace and adhering to health and safety standards.
- Flexibility to work various shifts opening and closing, weekends and holidays
