The Role
As the Director of Brand Strategy and Communications , you will oversee all external communication efforts, brand strategy, and public relations for The GroundTruth Project and its flagship programs, Report for America and Report for the World. This is a full-time leadership position is remote, reporting directly to the CEO . You'll play a pivotal role in elevating the organization's public profile, enhancing its visibility, and positioning it as a thought leader in journalism and related industries.
What You'll Do
- Develop and implement a comprehensive communications plan aligned with the organization's mission and goals.
- Craft and execute a cohesive brand strategy to drive communications across all channels.
- Lead and mentor the communications team, producing impactful content to tell compelling stories about the organization's work and its impact.
- Manage media relations, including preparing press releases, coordinating interviews, and building relationships with journalists and outlets.
- Oversee social media and digital engagement strategies to promote programs, events, and fundraising initiatives.
- Collaborate with leadership and stakeholders to align messaging and embed communications priorities across the organization.
- Monitor communications metrics, providing insights and optimizations to enhance effectiveness.
- Support crisis communication efforts when needed, ensuring appropriate and timely responses.
