What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Receptionist position at The Group for Women?
Our very busy OB / GYN practice needs an experienced Medical Receptionist who can manage the administrative duties involved with coordinating patient and physician schedules as well as provide outstanding customer service. We're looking for a professional who believes that patients should be treated as individuals rather than numbers and who understands the value of compassionate service.
The job includes significant amounts of multi-tasking along with the following responsibilities :
- Answer multi-line phones.
- Greet patients upon arrival, check them in, and obtain insurance and demographic information.
- Provide patients with forms and scan documents into our electronic medical records, Athena.
- Process payments from patients for their co-pays, deductibles, and balances.
- Schedule appointments for new and recurring patients based on physician / provider availability.
- Provide patients with support and guidance as needed.
- Work in a team environment.
- Provide excellent communication.
Requirements : 1 years' medical office experience required.

Busy OB / GYN practice with 3 locations in the Norfolk, Downtown Norfolk and Chesapeake area. We have 8 physicians, 3 Physician Assistants, 1 Nurse Practioner, and 3 Certified Nurse Midwives.
