The Grove’s Outreach Team works to reach our world for Christ, and to equip the church in carrying out Jesus’ commission to reach the whole world (Acts 1:8). The Treks Coordinator plays a critical role in empowering the church to make an impact through short-term trips. Because of the large number of short-term Treks, this position requires strong administrative gifting. The Treks Coordinator is also a highly relational position, maintaining connections with Trek leaders and global partners, and overseeing The Grove’s global partner hospitality.
Reports to: Outreach Pastor
Works with: Global and Local Outreach Staff, volunteers, Trek teams and leaders, global partners
Works: Full time, approximately 40 hours per week
TEAM DEVELOPMENT — 60%
- Recruit and screen participants for short-term teams; ensure alignment with the spiritual mission of The Grove and the specific ministry objectives of the Trek team.
- Communicate with potential Trek participants; respond to questions.
- Assist with determining team roles for Trek participants.
- Coordinate meetings for team orientation and debriefing.
- Oversee training for Trek participants.
- Develop devotionals to provide spiritual component to Trek experiences.
- Help connect Trek participants with long-term or specialized opportunities.
- Coordinate prayer teams and meetings.
ADMINISTRATIVE — 20%
- Oversee master calendar for Treks.
- Coordinate Treks promotional materials.
- Track Trek team budgets and provide financial oversight.
- Coordinate annual Treks fundraising event.
GLOBAL PARTNER HOSPITALITY – 10%
- Build welcoming relationships with global partners through Treks planning and home assignments; help represent The Grove’s values to global partners.
- Coordinate home assignments for global partners, including housing, vehicle, meetings and connection times.
- Oversee schedule and environment for The Grove’s missionary home.
OTHER MINISTRY — 10%
- Cultivate intimacy with God and growth in Christ-like character through personal and corporate spiritual disciplines.
- Attend Trek send-offs and lead commissioning prayers for teams.
- Serve as a member or leader of short-term Treks from time to time as needed.
- Assist with various Outreach Team events and ministry needs.
- Attend team meetings, all-staff meetings and devotions; lead staff devotions.
