What are the responsibilities and job description for the Child Care Assistant Teacher position at The Growing Place Child Care Centers?
If you have joy to share, contact us! All of our jobs are Monday through Friday, between the hours of 6:45 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. No nights or weekends! Currently our greatest need is for Assistant Teachers for 10:15 a.m. 6:15 p.m. who can happily see the children through the end of their day and close the classroom. See position details below.
We are looking for caring and hard-working individuals to assist in supervising children, cultivate their social and emotional development, facilitate developmentally appropriate activities in a safe and nurturing environment, care for the whole child, including diapering and assisting with toileting as needed, and support our commitment to meeting the individual needs of each child and their family
Candidates should be at least 18, have a high school diploma or equivalent and have at least two years of documented experience working with children. (in addition to child care center experience, valid experience can include but is not limited to volunteering, coaching, tutoring, babysitting, and/or lifeguarding.) Caring for your own children does not count per PA regulations.
The Growing Place Child Care Centers are Keystone STAR Four rated, which is the highest quality in PA. All three of our centers are NAEYC-accredited as well. Teamwork is very important in our organization, where we serve approximately 450 children, from eight weeks to 12 years old, in three large centers. Available Positions:
Brodheadsville at our Chestnuthill Center: Floater closer, School Age Split Shift, Preschool split shift.
Kresgeville at our Polk Center: Toddler closer, School Age Split Shift, Floater closer
Stroudsburg at our Stroudsburg Middle School Center: Infant and Toddler
Hourly rate is based on years of experience and college credits in ECE. Applicants who do a split shift will earn a shift differential of $1.00 per hour.
Before beginning work, applicants will need to provide:
- Proof of high school graduation or the equivalent
- Two written references
- Verification of experience working with children (in addition to child care center experience, valid experience can include but is not limited to volunteering, coaching, tutoring, babysitting, and/or life guarding. Caring for your own children does not count per PA regulations.
