What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sushi Chef/Sushi Apprentice position at The Grumpy Monk Broadway?
The Grumpy Monk Broadway is now hiring Sushi Chefs to our team. We are willing to train applicants with previous kitchen experience.
Minimum Job Requirements
- Ingredient selection and preparation: Selecting fresh seafood, vegetables, and other sushi ingredients, ensuring quality and proper handling of raw fish.
- Sushi rice preparation: Cooking and seasoning sushi rice according to traditional methods.
- Sushi assembly: Creating various sushi dishes like nigiri (hand-pressed rice topped with fish), maki rolls (seaweed-wrapped rolls), and sashimi (sliced raw fish).
- Menu development: Designing and updating sushi menus with creative variations and seasonal offerings.
- Food safety compliance: Maintaining strict hygiene practices and adhering to food safety regulations.
- Presentation and plating: Arranging sushi dishes aesthetically for optimal visual appeal.
- Kitchen management: Maintaining a clean and organized sushi station, managing inventory, and supervising kitchen staff.
