As a Program Manager in the Adult Behavioral Health Program, you will be responsible for the following:
- Responsible for the administrative and clinical functioning of the adult behavioral health programs. This will include the orientation, training, and clinical supervision of staff and any administrative functions necessary for the delivery of services to adults who are enrolled in these programs.
- Responsibilities will also include community liaison activities necessary to establish and maintain effective partnerships.
- Must have a working understanding of the requirements of different funding sources as they relate to specific programs and projects.
To qualify for this position, you will need the following:
- Masters Degree in one of the mental health professions with one or more years of experience in the evaluation and treatment of adults with mental illness.
- Meet the criteria for Qualified Mental Health Professional consistent with current certification standards for adult programs within 120 days of hire.
- Must have at least one year of experience supervising mental health programs that deliver services to adults with serious mental illness and/or substance use disorders.
- Must have a Certified Advanced Addictions Counselor credential or have the ability to be approved for a professional development plan through MCBAP within 30 days of hire.
- Will possess and maintain appropriate certification and/or licensure with the State of Michigan.
- Must have some experience with program development and program evaluation.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and a favorable driving record.
- Additional requirements include: a nonjudgmental approach that reflects cultural competency and sensitivity to the unique needs and diverse experiences of individuals and families, the ability to engage and maintain therapeutic relationships, the ability to develop collaborative relationships with agency staff and community partners, and the ability to assess and intervene within complex family and community systems.
- Must have effective interpersonal communication and organizational skills, and a willingness to be flexible, patient and creative.
- Must have the ability to appropriately handle crisis situations.
