Summary: The residential support specialist will be a flexible and skilled member of our team. This position will proactively be scheduled to attend to a variety of needs within a cohort (new staff training support, community engagement activity or ongoing student issue that requires additional support). This position should also be flexible and willing to respond to a house or area who has an emergent need. The residential support specialist will be knowledgeable in student treatment plans and able model as needed to step in with other students while the house staff learn new treatment plans.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
• Respond to calls for support received from residences during evening and weekend hours, modeling a trauma informed crisis support response to students as needed.
• Model appropriate implementation of student treatment plans, house schedules / routines, student engagement strategies, safety plans, and emergency interventions for students across residences.
• Must be flexible; easily able to move among residences during each shift based on needs of students and/or staff and have primary residence of assignment shifted based on needs of the residential program.
• Able to develop rapport with staff and students to effectively provide support during times of stress.
• Act as a communication link to associate directors or managers regarding student or staff issues as needed.
• Support houses and new staff during the onboarding process under the direction of house managers and associate directors.
• Ensure that a clean, safe, positive environment is provided when present in any residence.
• Transport students during the regular shift on community experiences, medical appointments, or emergency basis.
• Responsible for whereabouts, engagement, and well-being of all students while under his/her supervision.
• Administer and record students’ medications.
• Participate in any meetings pertaining to students or program planning, as directed.
• Be able to assist individuals in evacuation from residence.
