Summary:

The Associate Director of Clinical Services (Evening Shift) is responsible for the ongoing clinical integration into the residential group homes. The Associate Director ensures the completion of activities related to service coordination and staff management of clinicians working in the residential program. Further the associate director manages the treatment planning process and DCF case management for students living in our youth program. The Associate Director works with their peers to ensure that all residents are afforded healthy, educational, and safe residential environments in which there are ample opportunities to experience community activities, develop relationships, make decisions, learn new skills, and be treated with dignity.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

Programming:

  • Provide transparent, trauma-informed program management leadership for the clinicians working in the youth residential homes.
  • In coordination with recreation and residential staff, ensure the integration of residential clinical goals for students into daily schedules as evidenced by master schedules and improved quality of life for student outcomes.
  • Direct the proper participation of residential clinicians in IEP development, treatment plan coordination, and progress monitoring work; working cooperatively with educational and residential staff to address the needs of students across settings.
  • Support and participate in systems for effective consultation with Guild School staff from specialists and other program consultants to incorporate their recommendations/suggestions as appropriate.
  • Supervise and coordinate the DCF treatment planning process for youth living in Guild residential homes.

Staffing and Supervision:

  • Collaborate with Human Resources for hiring and promotions; support program director in hiring and onboarding residential clinicians.
  • Coordinate clinical case management in the residential programming, including organizing/assigning student assessments, coordinating treatment planning, progress monitoring, and case assignment for clinicians. This includes coordinating with the Associate Director of Clinical Services (Day Shift) for proper coverage of student and caseload needs.
  • Work collaboratively with other associate directors to ensure safe staffing and to support ongoing activities within residential programming.
  • Work with educational and residential team members for each house to coordinate the training of staff to implement IEPs, Guild treatment and DCF treatment plans.
  • Work with Human Resources Department to review and approve all corrective action plans, disciplinary action plans, and evaluations.
  • Manage scheduling, on-call supports, vacation requests, and payroll processing for clinical staff.
  • Ensure clinical staff in your management receive on-going clinical supervision from Guild or outside consultants.
  • Provide on-call supervision and emergency response to Guild residences.

Administration:

  • Ensure youth residential clinical programs in cohort are in compliance with all mandates of DEEC, DESE DCF, and all other governing bodies.
  • Participate in off-site evaluations as part of the admissions process, ensure clinicians develop plans and staff training as part of the new student pre-enrollment process.
  • Serve as part of the administrative on-call team.
  • Interact effectively with other people concerned with student placement/progress, such as referring agencies, parents, guardians, advocates, and current and potential providers of continuing or supplementary/ancillary services
  • Assist with planning department and division special events.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
  • Master’s degree in special education, clinical disciplines, or other related field is required.
  • Strong preference for clinical license or ability/willingness to get licensed.
  • Five (5) years of experience providing services to children/adolescents who have mental health diagnoses and/or developmental disabilities
  • Knowledge of regulatory standards is required; preferred experience in compliance with standards from MA Department of Early Education and Care (DEEC), Department of Children and Families (DCF), and Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE)
  • Minimum of two years of supervision experience
  • Excellent organization, administrative, and time management skills
  • Reliable transportation to multiple residential locations in Massachusetts
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • A valid driver's license and responsible driving record for transporting students, as needed.
  • Must meet Massachusetts Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI) background check requirements.
  • Medication Administration Program (MAP) certification within the first 90 days.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, case management software, and other electronic tools.
