- Remain awake for the entire shift and to provide support to individuals in the house as needed.
- Complete overnight checklists and reports as outlined by each individual's service plan and / or behavior plan.
- Work as a member of a team to maintain a clean, safe, positive living environment for each individual who lives at the residence including completing laundry and cleaning assignments
- Assist in the development and implementation of each individual's residential ISP / IEP and daily activity schedule.
- Implement positive behavior supports and individual behavior support plans for individuals who live in the home.
- Provide supervision of all individuals while under his / her care.
- Administer and record individuals' medications, in compliance with MAP.
- Provide direct supervision and care to individuals, including 1 : 1 responsibilities at all times and locations.
- Participate in any meetings pertaining to assigned individuals or program planning, as directed.
- Engage in de-escalation of individuals.Essential Job Functions :
- Regular attendance at work is an essential function of the job including weekends, holidays and inclement weather situations.
- Demonstrated evidence of mature judgment, good interpersonal skills, a desire to enrich individuals' lives and a willingness to learn from skilled professionals.
- Physical and mental capacity to work in stressful situations and de-escalate individuals who have limited cognition and complex needs
- Proficiency in written and spoken English is an essential function of the job.
- Pass Guild Driving test to access Guild vehicles for transportations of individuals.
- The ability to implement crisis intervention techniques as necessary, including Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (via certification through CPI).
- The ability to assist individuals in evacuation from the residenceQualifications :
- A minimum of an Associate's Degree is preferred; prior experience in lieu of a degree will be considered
- A valid driver's license
- Must meet Massachusetts Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI) background check requirements.
- MAP (Medication Administration Program) certification or the ability to obtain MAP certification within first 90 days of employment
