Job Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and results-driven Account Executive to grow and manage our wholesale artisanal bread business across the Eastern Shore of Maryland and the state of Delaware. This individual will be responsible for generating new business, managing relationships with existing accounts, and ensuring smooth and timely delivery of products to our customers.
Role & Responsibilities
- Identify and pursue new wholesale customers, including restaurants, hotels, grocery stores, and specialty retailers.
- Build and maintain a strong sales pipeline to achieve revenue goals within the assigned territory.
- Conduct tastings, product demos, and presentations to prospective customers.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all accounts within the territory.
- Develop strong, long-term relationships with customers to ensure repeat business and customer satisfaction.
- Monitor order frequency, volume, and feedback to support account retention and growth.
- Coordinate with delivery drivers to ensure timely and accurate delivery of products to all customers.
- Proactively resolve any delivery or order-related issues as they arise.
- Step in to deliver product personally when drivers are unavailable, or delivery issues arise.
- Maintain a regular travel schedule throughout the Eastern Shore of Maryland and Delaware to service accounts
- This is a field-based position with significant travel throughout the assigned territory. Candidates should expect to spend the majority of their time on the road visiting customers, prospecting new business, and overseeing deliveries.
- Some early morning or evening hours may be required to align with customer needs and delivery schedules.
- Occasional weekend work may be necessary for events, tastings, or trade shows.
- As we continue to expand, there is significant potential for this role to grow into a regional management or senior sales leadership position.
- The Sales Representative will have the opportunity to shape the growth strategy for the territory and play a critical role in the company’s long-term success.
Requirements
- Prior experience in foodservice sales, especially within the restaurant, hospitality, or grocery industries.
- Knowledge of or passion for artisanal bread and bakery products is strongly preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Self-starter with excellent time management and organizational abilities.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to lift and carry product (up to 50 lbs.) as needed for deliveries or product demos.
