Summary: The Industrial Custodian will work with various departments including Engineering, Production, Maintenance, etc., using custodial and organizational skills, assist in keeping the work and production environments clean, sanitary, and safe.
Essential Functions
- Performs general cleaning and janitorial duties in the production areas of the building.
- Performs minor repairs and maintenance such as replacing light fixtures or unclogging pipes.
- Assists in cleaning and sanitizing restrooms and cafeteria areas.
- Ensures heating and cooling systems are operational.
- Maintains a neat and orderly janitors’ room; ensures cleaning and maintenance supplies are stocked.
- Washes windows.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Knowledge of safety hazards and proper use of various cleaning and sanitizing solutions.
- Detail-oriented and thorough.
- Ability to perform basic repairs and operate tools or equipment used in routine maintenance.
- Ability to keep the facility clean and orderly.
- Ability to interact with supervisors and other employees while remaining professional, polite, and courteous.
Education Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent a plus
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to lift as much as 50 lbs. several times a day
- Must be able to stand for the vast majority of the shift
Shift Details
1st Shift is M-TH, 4 X 10-hour shifts, 6:30 am – 5:00 pm.
All employees are expected to work overtime hours as needed.
Overtime is typically twice a month on Fridays and are 8-hour shifts.
