Job Responsibilities
The Heavy Equipment Operator will perform all work adhering to OSHA and H&K Safety policies, move levers and depress pedals to control operation, function, and movement of machine, feel lever and listen for stalling action of engine to operate equipment most efficiently, clean equipment as scheduled, ensure equipment is safely and securely parked and stored, maintain equipment by greasing properly and checking fluids daily (oils, coolant, fuel level), and notify shop foreman of any requirements for maintenance or repairs.
Requirements
- One-year certificate from an accredited college or technical school OR six months of related experience and/or training
- Able to pass practical skills test for heavy equipment including dozers, excavators, and loaders
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to understand and carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
