Job Description
This position entails operating heavy equipment in order to achieve daily production goals while adhering to OSHA and H&K Safety policies. Essential duties include moving levers and pedals to control equipment operation, cleaning equipment as scheduled, ensuring safe parking and storage, maintaining equipment by greasing properly and checking fluids daily, and notifying the shop foreman of any requirements for maintenance or repairs.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, candidates must possess a one-year certificate from an accredited college or technical school or six months of related experience and/or training. They should also be able to pass a practical skills test for heavy equipment including dozers, excavators, and loaders, possess strong verbal and written communication skills, and have the ability to understand and carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Additionally, they should have problem-solving skills, be able to fit test and utilize appropriate PPE as needed, and meet physical requirements.

Work Environment
