Job Summary
The Excavator Operator will be responsible for operating a range of heavy equipment, including excavators with hammers, in a safe and efficient manner. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction or quarry operations and be able to demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities
- Operate excavators and other heavy equipment in accordance with MSHA and H&K Safety policies
- Perform pre- and post-trip inspections of equipment and fill out daily inspection sheets
- Start engines, shift gears, press pedals, and turn steering wheels/move joysticks/levers to operate heavy equipment
- Maintain haul roads and keep stockpiles properly bermed and maintained
Requirements
- One-year certificate from an accredited college or technical school, or six months of related experience and/or training
- Able to pass practical skills test for excavators and loaders
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
