The H&K Group, Inc. is seeking an experienced Mine Site Safety Specialist to join our team as a Heavy Civil Construction Safety Lead. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting mine site safety initiatives and oversight, carrying out safety supervisory responsibilities, and developing training programs to promote safety consciousness and culture within our workforce.

Responsibilities
* Support mine site safety initiatives and oversight* Carry out safety supervisory responsibilities in accordance with our policies and applicable laws* Develop and conduct training programs to increase proficiency in safe practices* Oversee regulatory compliance inspections* Assist in the implementation and execution of company drug and alcohol programs and policies* Maintain safety files and records* Other duties as assigned
Requirements and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need a Bachelor's or Associate's degree in environmental health and safety, physical sciences, or a related field, or equivalent experience in a safety role in the heavy civil construction industry. You should also have at least 2 years of relevant safety/environmental experience in the mining and construction materials industry. Strong verbal and written communication skills, presentation and public speaking abilities, and intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills are essential. A valid driver's license, good driving record, and medical card are also required. Additionally, you should be able to lift 75 pounds and demonstrate skills in composure and conflict resolution.
