Shop Mechanic 2nd

The HK Group is seeking a self-motivated, organized, competent, and professional 2nd Shop Mechanic to repair and maintain electric, diesel, and gasoline vocational trucks.

Responsibilities:

• Perform all work adhering to OSHA and HK Safety policies.
• Determine malfunction and plan work procedures by reading job orders and observing and listening to truck or equipment in operation.
• Install new ignition systems, align front wheels, change or recharge batteries, and replace transmissions and other parts.
• Replace gas or diesel engines.
• Examine protective guards, loose bolts, and specified safety devices on trucks and equipment, and adjust.
• Lubricate and service vehicles.
• Fabricate special lifting or towing attachments, hydraulic systems, shields, or other devices according to schematic drawings.
• Collision repair, sand, prep, and paint.
• Complete all standard maintenance on trucks and equipment and ensure state inspection requirements are met for cars, trucks, and trailers.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• One-year certificate from an accredited college or technical school in diesel mechanics or a related field, or two years of related experience and/or training.
• Class A or B CDL or ability to obtain within one year.
• Clean driving record.
• Customer Service and Teamwork.
• Ability to fit test & utilize appropriate PPE as needed.
• Ability to meet physical requirements (movement, lifting, as relevant to job).
