Position Summary:
Reporting directly to the distribution facility’s Night Shift Manager and Transportation Manager our Yard Jockeys are expected to be able to operate the distribution center’s fleet of tractors and trailers on the property of the facility. Yard Jockeys report to our distribution center between 3:30 PM and 12:00 AM, with the expectation to move and transition tractors to their designated trailers based on the Dispatch Log, as well as moving trailers in and out of their assigned dock space for loading all product onto the designated trailers.
Duties include:
· Communicating with the Night Shift Manager and Transportation Manager throughout the shift to make sure that all tractors are attached to their assigned trailers.
· Driving and operating tractors and trailer (ranging from 28’ – 53’)
· Possibly lifting up to 50 lbs. of product at a given time.
· Helping the assigned driver keep the vehicle clean and orderly during your shift.
· Having a team mindset with needs and help required to “get the job done” with the Night Shift and Transportation Department.
· Other duties and projects as assigned.
Skills & Attributes
· Demonstrate ability to comprehend and communicate through written and verbal means
· Demonstrate safety and proper technique when operating heavy machinery
· Ability to drive and operate tractors and trailer (ranging from 28’ – 53’)
· Possess good communication with drivers, night shift, and the dispatch team
· Maintaining a positive and friendly demeanor and outlook on the job
· The ability and willingness to be a team player in times of need and otherwise
Experience and Education:
· *Preferred* minimum of 1-3 years of distribution experience
· DOT law and regulation familiarity and knowledge
· *Preferred* delivery or transportation experience (moving company, box truck or van deliveries, etc.)

Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35 – 45 per week
