The R&D Engineering-Exteriors & Non-Automotive group at Haartz is looking for a highly-motivated engineer to join our growing team! New ideas, new technologies and new ways of thinking are driving our future!

This is what you will be doing:

As an R&D Engineer, you will assist the Manager in developing new products in the Automotive exterior area, launching new customer programs, leading cost-reduction efforts, and supporting current production quality demands.

Applicant must be available to work flexible schedules and willing to travel.

Some Job Responsibilities

·         Write Q.C. specifications for new finished products & incoming raw materials

·         SPC and on-line testing of finished products

·         Evaluations of product field performance.

·         Follow APQP process (including FMEA's) for designated products.

·         Develop new products to meet customer needs.

·         Research new plastic materials, textiles and composites.

·         Investigate new equipment and design new processes.

·         Follow through scale-up of developed product from lab, prototype, pilot production and production stages.

·         Customer contact to evaluate new product performance in the customer's production process and in its ultimate end use.

·         Extensive formulation and extrusion process work with PVC, TPO, TPR, TPE rubber, etc.

·         Development of new adhesives, textiles, foams, and compounds.

·         Establish costing analysis on new products and processes.

·         Provide proper supervision and training for technicians.

·         Evaluate new technology available for textile manufacture and its processes where applicable to Haartz finished products.

This is what you should bring:

Minimum degree Bachelor's (B.S.) or Master's (M.S.) in Chemistry, Polymer Materials, Chemical or Plastics engineering with 0-2 years of relevant experience and demonstrated accomplishments.
