Human Resources Manager
The Hagedorn Little Village School (HLVS) Jack Joel Center for Special Children provides educational and therapeutic programs to pre-school and elementary school children with a wide range of developmental delays and disabilities. This is an exciting opportunity to oversee a growing HR team within The Hagedorn Little Village School, a Private Special Needs School located in Nassau County.
Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Human Resources Manager to guide and support our team and employees. As the HR Manager, you will oversee the HR team and ensure compliance with organizational policies and regulations. This role requires a strong knowledge of HR principles. The ideal candidate will have a passion for HR and be committed to delivering exceptional support to all employees. This is a full time, on-site position.
Responsibilities:
- Provide HR team with daily support and guidance.
- Oversee the recruitment, onboarding and hiring process for all departments within the organization.
- Ensure compliance with federal and state employment laws and guidelines.
- Assist in the development, implementation and communication of HR policies and procedures.
- Address employee concerns in a professional and confidential manner.
- Provide HR guidance and support to management and staff on all human resource-related matters.
- Ensure HRIS systems and processes are ideal for organization.
- Supervise and assist with internal HR-related situations.
- Oversee accurate HRIS systems data.
- Connect with external organizations such as legal counsel and benefits providers, as needed.
- Assist in the planning and implementation of employee benefits.
- Assist with planning, development and distribution of employee handbook.
Qualifications:
- Excellent communication, organizational and leadership skills.
- Extensive knowledge of federal and state employment leaves.
- Ability to problem solve and quickly provide solutions.
- Strong knowledge of employment laws, HR best practices, and compliance requirements.
- Ability to work respectfully and collaboratively with all levels of employees to create a positive work environment.
- Meticulous attention to detail.
- A self-motivated individual.
- 3 years’ experience as an HR professional.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management or a related field.
Initial medical exam and background checks are mandatory.
This is a full on-site position.

Annual Salary: $70,000 - $80,000 commensurate with experience.
