Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Assistant General Manager who demonstrates leadership potential and a commitment to excellence. This role offers the opportunity for advancement to General Manager upon successful completion of a 90-day probationary period. The ideal candidate is responsible for managing the overall daily operations of our restaurant, as well as the selection, development and performance management of employees. This role will report to the District Manager and the owners of the company. This position is perfect for someone with a strong background in hospitality management, particularly within quick service or fast food environments.
Duties
- Adhere to company standards and service levels to increase sales and minimize costs, including food, beverage, supply, utility and labor
- Budgetary management. Develop and manage budgets. Monitoring expenses and controlling costs. Analyzing financial data and making data-driven decisions. Ensuring profitability and meeting financial targets.
- Supervise staff, including hiring, training, and performance management.
- Provide outstanding customer service to enhance guest satisfaction.
- Manage inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies as needed.
- Responsible for ensuring that all financial (invoices, reporting) and personnel/payroll related administrative duties are completed accurately, on-time, and in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Address customer inquiries and resolve issues promptly to maintain a positive dining experience.
- Maintain an accurate and up-to-date plan of restaurant staffing needs. Prepare schedules and ensure that the restaurant is staffed for all shifts.
- Establish daily accountability for registers by ensuring each register is properly funded the correct amount of cash and close out each register to ensure all funds are accounted for.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as an Assistant Manager/General Manager or in a similar supervisory role within the restaurant industry is preferred.
- Must have or be able to obtain California ServSafe Manager Certification.
- Must be able to handle the pressures of simultaneously coordinating a wide range of activities and recommend appropriate solutions to restaurant problems.
- Excellent customer service skills with a focus on enhancing guest experiences.
- Eager to learn and apply new skills taking on more complex tasks and opportunities as they arise.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as required by business needs.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team effectively.
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
