Associate Attorney Job Summary
Our firm is looking for an Associate Attorney to help with our high volume of litigation cases. As an Associate Attorney, you work underneath a senior attorney on each case you are assigned. Your tasks include drafting legal documents, assisting with the discovery process, and performing legal research for each case. While we sometimes negotiate settlements on behalf of clients without going to trial, we are looking for someone who can aggressively represent our clients' interests. Our ideal applicant has 2-5 years of litigating experience, preferably focused on civil litigation, corporate law, construction law, and personal injury law.
Salary is negotiable depending on experience.
Associate Attorney Duties & Responsibilities:
- Conduct legal research and analyze statutes, regulations, and case law to provide accurate and effective legal advice.
- Draft, review, and revise legal documents, including contracts, pleadings, briefs, and memoranda.
- Represent clients in court proceedings, hearings, depositions, and mediation sessions.
- Collaborate with senior attorney on case strategy, evidence gathering, and trial preparation.
- Communicate with clients to provide updates, gather information, and address legal concerns.
- Negotiate settlements and agreements on behalf of clients while ensuring their best interests are represented.
- Manage multiple cases and deadlines, maintaining meticulous records and documentation.
- Conduct due diligence for transactions, compliance reviews, and risk assessments.
- Stay updated on changes in laws, regulations, and legal precedents relevant to practice areas.
- Support the firm’s business development efforts by contributing to client marketing, networking, and building professional relationships.
Associate Attorney Requirements:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Active bar membership in Tennessee and Virginia.
- Proven experience in a law firm or legal environment, with a focus on civil litigation, corporate law, construction law, personal injury law.
- Strong legal research and analytical skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in legal drafting and documentation.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
- Proficiency in legal software and research tools, such as LexisNexis or Westlaw.
- Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills.
- Commitment to maintaining client confidentiality and professional ethics.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $74,046.00 - $84,666.00 per year
