Under minimal supervision, assist the team in meeting, organizing, and overseeing its day-to-day goals and act as the focal point for the team for resolution of issues or problems. Operates in a team environment to meet departmental goals, create displays/prototypes, run required machines.
Major Job Duties / Responsibilities:
- Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
- Assist teammates with resolving problems or issues.
- Communicate with Warehouse, Engineering, QC, Supply Chain, and other areas to ensure adequate materials for a smooth production flow.
- Consult and confer with the production supervisor and engineering personnel to discuss developmental problems and to recommend product modifications.
- Documents actions by completing production and quality logs.
- Escalates disciplinary actions to Foreman with recommendations.
- Follow standard operating procedures (e.g., running machines, assembling, and operating computers and other various machines).
- Inspect and test products to verify conformance to specifications, using precision measuring instruments or circuit testers.
- Lay out and mark reference points and dimensions on materials, using measuring instruments and drawing or scribing tools.
- Loads feed mechanism by lifting stock into position.
- Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
- Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; and calling for repairs.
- Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
- Maintains specifications by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting, including turning, facing, knurling, and thread chasing operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls; sharpening and replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.
- Monitor accountability (e.g., production paperwork, daily production process, etc.).
- Organize and ensure workflow, paperwork, and computer entry completion.
- Programs CNC press brake/ understands CCN laser programming by entering instructions, including zero and reference points; setting tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches; calculating requirements, including basic math, geometry, and trigonometry; proving part programs.
- Provide suggestions for improvement of process or quality.
- Study blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine material dimensions, required equipment, and operations sequences.
- This person will be ultimately responsible for the work of all others functioning in the drill press area.
- Troubleshoots production area issues.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; and reading technical publications.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Required
- 2-year associate degree, Technical School Training in the field of Electronics, Networking, Mechanics, Technical certifications, or work-related experience
- Must have 3-5 years in a basic machine shop environment, with an additional 5-10 years of hands-on CNC; programming, and technical troubleshooting experience.
- Knowledge of Hall Group’s products and specifications
- 3-5 years of manufacturing experience
- Leadership training and knowledge
- Knowledge of blueprint reading
