Overnight Security and Support Coordinator

Overview
The Security Coordinator plays a vital role in ensuring the safety and security of our facilities, personnel, and assets. This position involves overseeing security operations, implementing safety protocols, and coordinating with law enforcement and emergency services as needed. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in security management, surveillance techniques, and conflict resolution, contributing to a safe environment for all stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement security policies and procedures to enhance safety measures across the organization.
• Monitor surveillance systems, including CCTV, to detect and respond to security breaches or suspicious activities.
• Conduct regular inspections of premises to identify potential security risks and recommend improvements.
• Coordinate with law enforcement agencies during incidents or emergencies, ensuring effective communication and response.
• Train staff on security protocols, conflict management techniques, and emergency response procedures.
• Manage loss prevention strategies to minimize theft and ensure asset protection.
• Maintain accurate records of incidents, investigations, and security activities for reporting purposes.
• Provide first aid and CPR assistance as required during emergencies.

Requirements

• Certification in security management or related field is preferred.
• Previous experience in law enforcement or military service is highly desirable.
• Proficiency in surveillance technologies, including CCTV systems.
• Strong understanding of loss prevention strategies and techniques.
• Excellent conflict management skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
• First aid and CPR certification is a plus.
• Strong observational skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Qualifications

• Required:
• High school diploma or equivalent; additional training or certifications in social services, security, or related fields a plus.
• Experience working with youth, vulnerable populations, or in a residential setting is highly preferred.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to handle challenging situations with a calm and compassionate approach.
• Ability to work independently, with a sense of responsibility and reliability.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to policies and procedures.
• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Preferred:
• Previous experience in security, social services, or crisis intervention.
• CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain certification.
• Familiarity with trauma-informed care practices and youth development principles.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, and patrol HALO premises during the overnight shift.
• Ability to lift or move light to moderate objects as needed.
• Ability to respond to emergencies quickly, including assisting in the safe evacuation of residents if necessary.
