Our Claims team is currently seeking a Workers Compensation Associate Adjuster to join our Fast Track team in our Worcester, MA office. This is a full-time/non-exempt role.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
Responsible for the investigation, negotiation and resolution of claims in accordance with policy provisions, best practices and jurisdictional requirements. Includes the input of claim data and guiding insureds and claimants through the claim process and options.
IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL:
Must have or secure and maintain appropriate states adjuster license(s) and continuing education credits
Works within defined limits and authority on assignments of minimal complexity
Uses discretion and independent judgment in claim handling
Possesses basic functional knowledge and skills reflective of study and/or on job development
Analyzes, evaluates and negotiates claims of minimal complexity
Identifies possibly suspicious claims
Phone contact with customers is required to confirm cause, coverage, liability and damages
Settlement and reserve authority levels are appropriate based on experience and supervisory guidance
May be part of a formal training program
May take recorded statements
May work with the Special Investigations Unit to resolve and negotiate settlement
May be required to have and maintain sufficient home-based internet connection
WHAT YOU NEED TO APPLY:
Typically has 1 to 3 years work experience; service or hospitality industry preferred
Basic understanding and ability to read legal documents a plus; such as paralegal or general legal support experience
