We are in search of Lower School Teachers for our Summer Camp Program!!!
Estimated hourly range: $40.00 - $57.00 (Rate is dependent upon sessions worked, subject to change due to enrollment changes)

We offer an academically focused K - 5 Summer Camp; the Summer Institute for Middle and High School-aged students; and our English Language Institute for international students. Position Summary
Provide a positive environment for campers to learn and develop lifelong skills. Plan and implement academic instruction that contributes to the camp goals and individual camper development. A summer academic teacher is responsible for planning, teaching and overseeing a particular academic class. In addition, he/she shall be responsible for maintaining the physical and emotional safety of the campers. All academic teachers will be responsible for general camp supervision as well as evaluating campers, aides and the camp program itself.

- Must have a B.A. or B.S. degree or proven experience in a particular field
- Must have a valid teaching credential and prior teaching experience required
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Plan and conduct academic activities that promote camper self-esteem and encourage camper success.
- Provide opportunities for each camper to meet the established goals of the camp.
- Provide input for summer curriculum development and the choice of materials used.
- Develop course goals and objectives in conjunction with the administrations goals and objectives for the course.
- Adjust course materials to meet the needs of campers.
- Teach curriculum for assigned class using a variety of effective techniques.
- Provide extra academic help to students before scheduled classes.
- Communicate with parents at the beginning of the session with a letter introducing the course, and throughout the remainder of the session.
- Communicate camper progress to parents throughout the session.
- Provide diligent supervision of campers during assigned duties (morning recess and lunch on a rotating schedule).
- Provide meaningful evaluations of each camper at the end of each session.
- Meet deadlines set by the Summer Principal.
- Set a good example for campers and others including, punctuality, dress, language and behavior.
Other Duties and Responsibilities
- Direct the activities of and evaluate classroom aide (if applicable).
Knowledge, Skill & Ability Requirements
- Ability to communicate and work with campers in the class, and provide necessary academic instruction and direction to campers.
- Ability to communicate and train campers in safety regulations and emergency procedures.
- Abilities to observe camper academic progress and behavior, assess its appropriateness, enforce appropriate safety regulations and emergency procedures, and apply appropriate behavior-management techniques.
- Visual and auditory ability to identify and respond to environmental and other hazards related to the position.
- Physical ability to respond appropriately to situations requiring first aid and emergency responses.
- Cognitive and communication abilities to plan and conduct the academic class to achieve camper development objectives.
Working Conditions
- May be subject to extended periods of time standing or walking
- Lift equipment/supplies weighing 20 pounds.
- Stand up and reach, bend down to interact with children.
- No hazardous or significantly unpleasant conditions.
- Physical ability to respond appropriately to situations requiring first aid and emergency responses.
- Cognitive and communication abilities to safely supervise and manage students while at play.
