Expected Salary Range: 65k - 75k (depending on experience)
Position Summary
Provide expertise, guidance, and training in the area of strength training and physical conditioning programs for Harker student body. This position will collaborate with other professionals to improve performance and prevent injury for schools student athletes.
- CPR/AED Certification (Required)
- NSCA - CSCS, NASM - PES, or equivalent certification required
- Bachelors degree (Desired)
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Direct strength & conditioning for both in-season and off-season athletes in cooperation with head coaches
- In cooperation with head coaches, work with teams in-season to develop and teach sports specific warm-ups and general conditioning.
- Teach Strength & conditioning and/or Fitness courses (PE) as assigned. Usually 2-3 sections per day (may depend on scheduling variables)
- Coordinate with athletic trainers to institute injury prevention programs for student athletes as needed.
- Work to develop both team and individual strength programs that can be customized based on individual needs of students in regards to age, ability level, strength, and injury status.
- Maintain the cleanliness and safety of weight room facility and care for equipment
- Update supervisor on equipment needs and/or upgrades
- Provide leadership and instruction to athletic coaches in the use of weight room equipment and training of athletes
- Develops and places into operation appropriate rules and regulations governing the weight room
- Motivates and encourages athletes to participate in off-season conditioning
- Promotes the schools physical fitness and athletic strength and conditioning programs
Other Duties and Responsibilities
- Support athletic department needs in regards to equipment and/or uniform distribution & collection, inventory, and laundry.
- In conjunction with athletic department staff, take lead role in PE credit accounting and class coordination with PE teachers.
- Assist coaches with game set-up and general site preparedness.
- Other duties may be assigned as necessary
Knowledge, Skill & Ability Requirements
- Experience with team training in a school setting preferred
- Background in or knowledge of corrective exercise preferred (CES, FMS, ATC, etc)
