The Harker School is a nonprofit TK-12, coed, private school in Silicon Valley that has earned international recognition for its top academics, quality teachers and student achievements. The Position
We are looking for a dynamic, committed, flexible and fun nurse to fill in for anywhere from a few hours to a few days to support our full-time nurses when they need time off. This position is for a registered nurse who can work on any of our three main campuses, K-12 on an as-needed basis. The substitute nurse will fulfill the daily office duties of the school nurse and will evaluate, treat and medicate sick or injured students and occasionally employees. This is a good position for a nurse seeking to expand their resume, pick up some extra work around another part-time job or try out school nursing as a future full-time career.
Estimated Hourly Rate: $45.00 - $50.00
Qualifications
Personal and Professional Requirements
- Current, clean, and active license as a Registered Nurse in California
- A bachelor’s degree in nursing is preferred
- Current CPR certification
- Effective organizational skills with careful attention to accuracy and detail
- A passion for working with students and their families within a vibrant and diverse community
- Strong work ethic and initiative
- Able to calmly triage and assess students in a fast-paced environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Mature judgment and discretion; ability to maintain confidentiality and composure under pressure
If the nurse works a full day, there will be a one-hour lunch break.
