Part-Time Piano Teacher Wanted
We are seeking a part time piano teacher to provide weekly piano lessons and/or small group classes to students of all ages, from 5 years through adulthood.
- Private Lessons - Taught in half hour increments. Students range in age from 6 through adult, and experience from beginner through intermediate.
- Small Group Classes - For ages 5-7, classes are 45 minutes in length and teach both early musical literacy as well as beginning piano playing skills. We have three existing classes which the teacher would be trained to lead, with the potential to add additional classes.
You can expect to teach anywhere from 5 - 15 hours per week, depending on your availability and current client demand. We will be your partner in building a schedule to reach your teaching goals.
As part of our team, you will enjoy a fully equipped music classroom, including a wide and growing library of repertoire and educational activities to draw from. We provide constant training, mentoring, and career development for optimal teacher performance and growth. Our dedicated office staff handles all scheduling, billing and client communication.
Preference will be given to candidates with a degree in Music, Music Education, those with classroom experience, and/or those with the proficiency to teach additional instruments.
Responsibilities
Upon hire, The Harmony Garden will provide basic training on our studio culture, mission, and systems you will engage in on a daily basis.
As a member of Team Harmony, you will:
- Provide one-on-one instruction for private students, ensuring all areas of our Standards for Musicianship are met.
- Prepare students for studio-wide recitals and any other adjudications or auditions they may wish to participate in.
- Follow existing lesson plans in teaching group piano classes, adapting as necessary based on class needs and your teaching strengths.
- Opportunity to expand your teaching goals by creating and leading additional programming at The Harmony Garden.
- Have the opportunity to substitute for other Harmony Garden teachers as needed.
- Participate in studio-wide team training and professional development events.
Currently based in Hopewell Junction, NY, we are gradually expanding our offerings in our Wappingers Falls satellite location. This creates a prime and unique opportunity to lead the expansion of The Harmony Garden’s reach.
