THE ROLE
The Harpeth Hotel in historic downtown Franklin is looking for Lobby Servers to join our team in providing one-of-a-kind experiences for our guests! Our lobby servers will service our Lobby Café, attending to drink and food orders of the guests in our lobby along with welcoming all who visit the hotel. AM shifts only, up to 7 days a week. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION:
- Greet and at times, seat the guests, take food and drink orders, make selected drinks. Serve food and drinks to guests following established guidelines, procedures, and policies regarding beverage and safety controls as prescribed by company standards
- Ring guest checks, collect cash and process credit cards and room charges in the exact manner outlined by company policies and procedures, adhering to all cash handling policies.
- Complete all restocking and cleaning duties by performing opening and closing side work duties. When necessary, create new processes to improve overall guest satisfaction.
- Respond to guest needs, issues, comments, and problems to ensure quality experience and enhance and ensure future returns. Communicate business needs with your manager
- -product needs—ensure pars are maintained, operational / functional needs, and total property guest needs.
- Work with other departments when needed to make sure all guest contacts are handled in a professional, cordial and efficient manner maintaining a high level of guest satisfaction
- Maintain the lobby and service area to the standards currently in place
- Be proactive in striking a good balance of extraordinary customer service and overall business alignment.
- Accomplish tasks, department objectives, financial goals, whole hotel hospitality goals, and other projects as assigned within the boundaries and scope of your job.
- Maintain a working knowledge of all products / menu items and any changes that may occur.
- Consistently present a professional and courteous demeanor. Able to use tact and understanding when dealing with a variety of customer service issues.
- At all times, maintain overall uniform standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned, requested or deemed necessary by management.
DESIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: High school education or equivalent experience. Must have an ABC Server Permit or be willing to obtain a permit within the first 2 weeks of employment.
Experience: Three-Six months in a food/beverage services environment or establishment.
Skills and Abilities: Able to mix drinks correctly. Provide exceptional service to all guests. Able to multitask and handle all the equipment especially in a bar that uses modern technology. Must have manual coordination to punch buttons, grasp items in hand and to balance and carry trays loaded with food and beverage. Able to read, speak, and understand English. Able to lead in a productive, diligent, and guiding manner. Communicate information and hotel services to management, staff, and guests.
