The Harris Center for Mental Health and IDD (“The HARRIS CENTER”) is looking for an Accounting Clerk to join our team. The Accounting Clerk is responsible for supporting the accounting team with various tasks, including preparing journal entries, performing bank reconciliations, and maintaining financial records. The Accounting Clerk plays a key role in data entry, maintaining the accuracy and organization of financial information, enabling smooth financial operations within the organization. Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and proficiency in accounting software are essential for success in this role.
Your role in action:
- Perform data entry tasks to maintain up-to-date and accurate records.
- Utilize accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Microsoft Excel) for various accounting functions.
- Prepare reconciliations of assigned accounts to maintain updated and accurate financial records.
- Perform general clerical duties, including filing, data entry, and document management.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, or annual financial reports
- Assist with organization, scheduling, and other administrative tasks as needed.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
What qualifications you will need:
Education:
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as an Accounting Clerk or similar role.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- General Knowledge of Accounts Payable (AP) processes and Accounts Receivable (AR) procedures
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Excel for reporting and data analysis
- Experience with QuickBooks or other software used for financial management
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong time management skills to meet deadlines effectively
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Basic knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting processes
