Brief Description
The Harris Center for Mental Health and IDD is seeking an innovative PASRR Evaluator to join their team. Reporting to the Program Director: ID Eligibility Center, the PASRR Evaluator plays a crucial role in evaluating individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities across various settings, including nursing facilities, hospitals, and the community. Utilizing electronic systems, the evaluator completes PASRR assessments and performs necessary activities for billing purposes. Additionally, they may assist individuals in obtaining required documentation, explain services and supports, conduct service coordination assessments, monitor PASRR case timelines, and prepare consumer records for referral to relevant departments after eligibility determination. The PASRR Evaluator may also contribute to training new staff when necessary. Acting as a liaison between The Harris Center ID Eligibility and referring entities, they address questions and concerns related to PASRR. This position requires travel and offers flexible work hours to accommodate varying needs.

Your Role In Action
- Assists with training PASRR Eligibility Coordinators.
- May provide training refreshers to referring entities seeking guidance regarding PASRR.
- Monitors TMHP and SFAX for PASRR notifications
- Obtains HIPAA consents
- Completes and submits PASRR evaluations, which includes face-to-face meetings with persons in nursing facilities, hospitals, homes, etc.
- Participates in interdisciplinary team meetings (IDT)
- Documents services provided in The Harris Center data systems
- Reviews medical and mental health records as well as HHSC databases for diagnostic information
- Daily traveling to and from facilities and homes throughout Harris County.
What qualifications you will need:
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) or equivalent. Bachelors degree required, preferably in the social sciences.
- Must have 1 year of experience working directly with persons with developmental disabilities.
- Effective communication
- Works with consumers, family members, visitors and fellow employees in a manner that demonstrates knowledge of cultural diversities.
- Proficient in common computer applications (e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.).
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Must have COVID vaccine or be willing to receive vaccine upon hire and prior to start date.
