The Harris Center for Mental Health and IDD (“The HARRIS CENTER”) is looking for a Unit Support to embark on a rewarding healthcare career! Under the direction of the Clinical Team Leader or Program Director, this position is responsible for assisting the licensed clinical staff with answering phones, directing calls to appropriate staff, setting up working charts/pulling charts, enter client information into appropriate software applications, entering demographic information, opening/closing assignments, notarizing and organizing court papers, entering discharge summaries, and performing related work as assigned.

Under the direction of the Clinical Team Leader or Program Director, this position is responsible for assisting the licensed clinical staff with answering phones, directing calls to appropriate staff, setting up working charts/pulling charts, enter client information into appropriate software applications, entering demographic information, opening/closing assignments, notarizing and organizing court papers, entering discharge summaries, and performing related work as assigned.
Your Role In Action
- The PES Unit Support answers phone in a timely manner and professional manner, noting necessary information and directing calls and information to the appropriate staff.
- The PES Unit Support sets up/maintains/organizes consumer’s medical record including entering information to generate and print chart labels).
- The PES Unit Support enters consumer information into appropriate application.
- The PES Unit Support generates and maintains accurate daily unit census (including maintaining consumer logs and Eboard).
- The PES Unit Support open/closes assignments accurately in the system when the consumer is admitted/discharged.
- THE PES Unit Support responds in a timely and professional manner to requests from the licensed clinical staff (i.e. pulling charts, getting supplies, forms, etc.)
- The PES Unit Support supplies the unit and dock areas with the most current forms.
- The PES Unit Support completes applicable tasks assigned by Clinical Team Leader or Program Director in a timely manner.
- The PES Unit Support generates/produces requested reports, documents or forms as requested.
- The PES Unit Support organizes and assists with court papers and provides notary service a needed for clinical staff.
- The PES Unit Support monitors fax machines and ensures documents are given to appropriate staff.
- The PES Unit Support faxes and copies documents as requested by licensed clinical staff.
- The PES Unit Support maintains Missing Persons book and consumer informational handouts.
- The PES Unit Support performs related work as assigned, adapts to changing work requirements, and is flexible to meet the ongoing needs of the Agency.
What qualifications will you need:
- High School Diploma or General Education diploma.
- Minimum of 1 year clerical/receptionist experience.
- Knowledge of general office equipment (telephone, fax, copier).
- Knowledge of basic office computer applications and hardware.
- Ability to communicate effectively (both oral and written) with staff and the people we serve.
- Demonstrate strong time management skills and able to multitask.
- Well-organized.
- Bilingual preferred.
