The Harris Center for Mental Health and IDD (“The HARRIS CENTER”) is looking for a Worker’s Compensation Administrator to join our team. The Workers’ Compensation Administrator is responsible for the routine insurance claims work of the department.
Your Role In Action
- Performs routine, technical, and administrative insurance work in support of the Commercial Insurance Program.
- Performs work in support of workers’ compensation claims, communicating with claimants and other case-related contacts to ensure property and efficient processing of cases.
- May also support auto, cyber-security, general, professional, crime, and property claims programs.
- Delivers superior customer service and satisfaction through effective interactions with claimants, managers, vendors, and others.
- Takes new claim reports, manages claims, and assists claimants through the claims process, requesting medical records, insurance information, and other relevant information for case preparation.
- Locates and develops relevant case information, ensuring all tasks and documentation are appropriately stored and updated in legal files system.
- Promptly notifies the Director of any reports of possible fraudulent activity.
- Works with the Director in support of injured workers, to help restore employees’ health and well-being after a work-related injury.
- Responds to calls and queries from internal and external providers, claimants, and insurance companies.
- Sends and receives proper data to and from carriers, vendors, and other sources for prompt resolution of claims.
- Researches and reviews claims to meet guidelines concerning appropriate documentation for claims Processing
- Authorizes routine medical treatment and drug/alcohol screens and runs Motor Vehicle Record reports.
- Works with Director on Safety and Risk Management projects.
- Provides reports of injury and accident records to the Director
- Performs other related duties as assigned
What qualifications you will need:
- High School Diploma or General Education diploma.
- Minimum 3 years experience in worker’s compensation and/or loss prevention required.
- The desired candidate for this position will have a background in reviewing and processing workers’ compensation claims. Experience in a fast-paced office environment, legal office, or a working knowledge of discovery and case preparation a plus
- Able to multi-task along with proven time management and organizational skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively with a wide variety of people.
- Able to use Microsoft products to maintain data and generate reports.
