Reporting to the Assistant Vice President, Auto line of business, the Assistant Director of Product Management is charged with top and bottom line financial results of the Auto line of business ($400M TWP).
The selected candidate will assist the AVP, Auto LOB with managing the profit and loss of the line of business and develop detailed knowledge about the line of business performance along different performance dimensions, inclusive of profitability, production, flow, competitive position, book mix, and distribution dynamics to create strategies that enable the long-term profitable growth of the Auto line of business.
This role will be responsible for working with an extended team of business partners consisting of product, actuarial, data science, claim, state product managers, sales, underwriting, marketing, etc. to accomplish the business goals for the line.
This role can have a Hybrid or Remote work arrangement. Candidates who live near one of our core office locations will have the expectation of working in an office 3 days a week (Tuesday through Thursday). Candidates who do not live near an office will have a remote work arrangement, with the expectation of coming into an office as business needs arise.
Responsibilities : Manage Auto Offering
- Support profitable growth of the Auto product nationwide
- Contribute to the achievement of P&L goals for the Auto line by developing business cases and action plans that directly impact both top and bottom-line performance.
- Assist with achievement of countrywide rate / price targets by understanding the impact of targeted actions and / or state specific strategy on the broader plan
- Actively monitor / manage performance of Auto class plans (e.g. projected profitability, renewal strategies, growth strategies, discretionary pricing strategies)
- Influences the organization to make necessary changes to achieve business plan objectives
- Works closely with various business partners to find and execute on market opportunities
- Develop strong working relationship with field, underwriting, and claim partners to identify areas of opportunity to maximize profit and growth

The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is :
