The Director, Program Management will own and drive key deliverables to provide strategic, operational, and execution support to the Chief of Staff of the Enterprise CIOO, and will be a leader within the Office of the CIOO. This role requires exceptional collaboration skills, advanced communication skills, extensive research capabilities, comprehensive program management experience and flexibility and ability to juggle with multiple tasks and prioritize activities. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned professional with a proven track record of working with executive leaders in a dynamic and complex environment with ability to work independently with minimal direction.
This role will have a Hybrid work schedule, with the expectation of working in Hartford, CT 3 days a week (Tuesday through Thursday). Candidates must be eligible to work in the US without company sponsorship.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership:
- Own and drive deliverables/tasks, collaborate, plan and execute on the same.
- Lead, plan and execute critical initiatives and events, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and timely execution.
- Identify and execute on opportunities to improve processes to support the CIOO
- Oversee and manage ad hoc topics based on strategic needs.
- Develop and manage comprehensive project plans, providing strategic oversight to ensure successful project outcomes.
- Facilitate cross-functional collaboration and drive project teams towards achieving key milestones.
- Prepare detailed meeting agendas, document key decisions, and ensure follow-up on action items.
- Monitor progress towards strategic objectives and provide regular updates and recommendations for course corrections.
- Manager key partner contracts and relationships as needed.
- Drive Knowledge Management within OCIO
- Proactively communicate on status of tasks, risks and other items in a manner that is easily consumable.
Executive Communication:
- Own and author, review, and refine complex reports, strategic documents, presentations, and correspondence. Ensure all written communications are clear, concise, and aligned with the organization's strategic goals.
- Maintain an excellent eye for details while understanding the strategic direction.
- Synthesize and present information in a consumable format.
Marketing Collaboration
- Collaborate with marketing and communication teams on the strategy and implementation for Technology and Operations
- Work with the marketing team to drive implementation of marketing plan
- Drive preparation of key messages and scripts for marketing events related to CIOO
Advanced Research:
- Drive and conduct in-depth research on industry trends, emerging technologies, competitive analysis and marketing/branding events to inform strategic decision-making.
- Synthesize complex data and provide actionable insights and recommendations to the Chief of Staff and CIOO.
- Maintain a strong technical quotient with willingness to learn new topics continuously based on strategic needs.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including senior executives, teams across the enterprise and key partners.
- Act as a trusted advisor and liaison, facilitating effective communication and collaboration across the organization.
Qualifications:
- 10 years of experience in program and project management, within a large enterprise or technology-driven organization.
- Strong tech quotient and business acumen
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical and research skills with the ability to synthesize complex information.
- High proficiency in advanced Microsoft Office Suite.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and iterate on deliverables.
- High level of professionalism, discretion, and integrity.

Compensation
The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:
