Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. What’s in it for you?
- A foundational background and robust overview of general liability claims which involve asbestos, toxic torts, environmental hazards, and construction defects
- Assist with the review of policies, contracts and/or financial files to support claim handling
- Partner with internal and external business partners in the claims process, including investigation of claims, negotiation of settlements and consultation with inside and outside counsel and technical experts
- Responsibilities will include completing a capstone research project, in which you will: partner with other interns to obtain and analyze information related to the topic, prepare a presentation on the topic, and present the topic/deliver recommendations to senior leaders
- Participate in weekly professional development and training workshops as well as network with fellow interns and Hartford professionals through the enterprise
- With meaningful work, all interns will have a better understanding of the insurance industry and network of professional contacts
- Working towards a bachelor’s degree in Liberal Arts or Business with anticipated graduation date of December 2025 or May 2026
- Demonstrated leadership potential through extra-curricular activities
- Must have a record of high achievement, self-motivation, ability to multi-task and accomplish competing priorities
- Strong written and verbal communication, presentation, interpersonal, analytical and research skills
- Ability to analyze/reason through complex problems and make sound recommendations while consistently demonstrating honesty, integrity, courtesy, and respect when interacting with others
