The Summer Law Clerk will report to one or more New York City Staff Law Department attorneys and will work with various members of department
The Responsibilities May Include
The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:

The Summer Law Clerk will report to one or more New York City Staff Law Department attorneys and will work with various members of department
The Responsibilities May Include
- Conducting legal research for and providing legal support to various practice groups within the Law Department
- Drafting legal memoranda, correspondence, reports and summaries
- Assist in aspects of litigation under the supervision of Staff Law Attorneys
- Attending client and customer meetings
- Interest in learning the inner workings of a Staff Law Department
- Strong legal research and writing skills
- Eagerness and desire to learn the law
- Superior analytical and critical thinking ability, with excellent attention to detail
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Prior legal experience a plus, but not required
